SHELTER® Membrane 0.8-1mm
SHELTER® membranes with a thickness of 0.8-1 mm are designed to offer high strength, increased graft stability and long-lasting protection.
Thanks to the characteristics of the fabric from which they are made, these membranes are characterised by a high tensile strength.
01 Biocompatibility and safety
SHELTER® membranes are manufactured entirely in Italy, following a rigorous decellularisation process that guarantees the total absence of antigens of animal origin, potentially harmful to the human organism. Dehydration and gamma ray sterilisation ensure a 5-year stability, making them safe and reliable for every operation.
02 Resistance and ease of use
Due to their increased thickness of 0.8 mm and 1 mm, these membranes offer superior tensile strength, facilitating suturing and pin fixation. This makes them particularly suitable for surgeries that require more support for the grafted biomaterial.
03 Angiogenesis Support and Chemotactic Capability
The bovine pericardium used in the production of SHELTER® membranes is highly recognised in the literature for its chemotactic properties. These properties enable SHELTER® membranes to attract cells involved in bone regeneration, including epithelial and connective cells, and cells involved in the process of angiogenesis. The synergy of these factors facilitates the regenerative process at the graft site.
Clinical Applications
0.8 mm and 1 mm SHELTER® membranes are ideal for a variety of clinical applications*, including:
• Maxillary sinus lift: They support techniques such as large elevations, Summers method, and crestal or lateral approach.
• Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR): Ideal for horizontal and vertical bone ridge augmentation.
• Periodontal Regeneration: Effective in infrabony defects, dehiscences and fenestrations in peri-implant lesions
